We are known for being a loving community of friends, with a focus on encouraging one another in our Christian faith to live with Jesus at the centre of everything that we do.
We started meeting together in a home about ten years ago, mostly with students and recent students, without intending to plant a church. But God had other plans, and we have loved being a church home for many wonderful people over the years. We have kept our church with a home feel, with a focus on friendship, informality and everyone taking part. There are currently about 50 of us who are part of Living Hope, including a number of lovely children and young people.
Prior to COVID-19, we met in small groups in the week and at Percy Community Centre on Sunday mornings, to encourage one another with teaching, worship and friendship. We are now meeting in a variety of different ways, including some outdoor picnics and tea and cake (in a COVID-secure way!), Zoom calls and in smaller groups in our homes. We love teaching one another from the Bible and we expect to be Spirit led and gifted in all that we do. The children are involved and around in all our times together, so when we all met together on Sunday mornings noisy and unpredictable meetings were the norm! Things are a bit different now with our meetings outside or on Zoom - but our focus continues to be being friends and family for one another.
Over the years students at Living Hope have been fully integrated and a part of our family life, in and out of homes, helping with children, encouraging one another and part of small groups. There are many wonderful churches in Bath, and if you are looking for somewhere small enough to be known well, and where you can participate and contribute, Living Hope might be the place for you. We would love to welcome you. Do get in touch using the form below.
